Program Director

Location: Remote (Applicants must have full working rights in the country from which they are applying).

Remuneration: Salary based on experience, ranging from €55,000 to €65,000 gross annually.

FTE Status: Full-time

Role Overview:

Razom We Stand, a dynamic organization led by Ukrainian climate and peace activists, is on a mission to combat Russia’s fossil fuel dominance, end the war in Ukraine, and accelerate the transition to renewable energy across Europe. Founded in April 2022, our vibrant team is seeking a skilled and visionary Program Director to help us advance this crucial mission.

As the Program Director, you will be at the forefront of developing, implementing, and overseeing our transformative programs. Your leadership will ensure that all initiatives align with our mission, are delivered effectively, and are rigorously evaluated for impact. This key role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic development, drive program effectiveness, and foster continuous improvement, creating a lasting impact on our goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Developing Program Strategies and Objectives:

  • Collaborate with senior management to align program strategies with organizational goals.
  • Conduct needs assessments and research to inform program development.
  • Define clear objectives and outcomes for each program.
  • Develop program strategies that align with the organization’s mission and goals.

2. Program Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop comprehensive program plans outlining activities, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure program activities are integrated and support overall organizational goals.
  • Implement programs, ensuring adherence to timelines and constraints.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and impact, reporting findings to senior management and stakeholders.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including partners and community leaders.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates on program progress and solicit feedback.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, public events, and media engagements related to the program.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts and collaborate with the grant writer and Executive Director to secure funding.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure program effectiveness and impact.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on program performance and outcomes.
  • Use evaluation findings to inform program improvements and strategic decision-making.

5. Collaboration and Integration:

  • Facilitate collaboration across departments to ensure programs are integrated and support overall organizational goals.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination among program teams.
  • Adapt programs based on feedback, research findings, and best practices in the field.

6. Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure all program activities comply with legal, contractual, and ethical standards.
  • Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of program delivery.

7. Innovation and Improvement:

  • Drive innovation within programs by incorporating new approaches.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement among program teams.
  • Stay informed about trends and developments to ensure programs remain relevant and effective.

8. Team Management and Leadership:

  • Develop clear job responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Conduct interviews to hire qualified candidates.
  • Develop a comprehensive onboarding plan.
  • Identify training needs and provide ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with program managers.
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Organize regular team meetings and promote a positive team culture.

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications:

Advanced degree in development studies, business administration, social sciences, or related field.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of senior management experience in development programs funded by international donors, managing the project cycle, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Experience in managing large-in-value field programs with multiple local and international partners, with expertise in scaling up programs in complex environments.
  • A passion for the non-profit sector and commitment to the organization’s mission.
  • Knowledge of climate-related issues, with a record of corresponding work and activism highly desirable.
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organize a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities.
  • Highly developed research, analytical, monitoring and evaluation, and report-writing abilities.
  • Strong representational, communication, people management, and interpersonal skills, with experience in leading multicultural, values-driven teams.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, multitasking, analytical skills and time management
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, G Suite, and project management tools.
  • Experience with budget management for projects and events.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple project aspects and cope with substantial pressure.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and internal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire project teams.
  • Language: Fluency in written and spoken English.
