Lindlyn Moma

Director of Strategic Impact, International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).

Dr. Lindlyn is a dedicated environmental legal advocate, practitioner, and scholar whose work is deeply informed by her transformative experiences during Liberia’s civil war. Her unwavering commitment to justice and sustainable development in the fields of environmental protection, climate change, and energy has driven the success of numerous national and global initiatives.

With a proven track record of leadership, Dr. Lindlyn has held several senior management positions, including Program Director at Greenpeace Africa and Regional Advocacy Manager at WaterAid. Currently, she serves as the Director of Strategic Impact at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), where she spearheads impactful strategies to drive sustainable change across global environmental and energy sectors.

In other leadership roles, Dr Lindlyn Moma is a board member of International IDEA and a member of the advisory team for its groundbreaking climate change and democracy program. Additionally, she shares her expertise as a guest lecturer on climate change, climate justice and energy transition with LLM students at the Law Faculty, University of Pretoria.

Her pre-academic focus centers on the governance of critical minerals, striving for a just energy transition to address the pressing challenges of the climate crisis. Driven by a commitment to contribute to the realisation of the Paris Agreement and SDG seven, she actively seeks collaborations for programs transitioning to renewable energy sources.
