Valeriya Izhyk

Senior Program Lead

Valeriya Izhyk is the EU Advocacy Lead guiding Razom’s Brussels team in advancing policies that cut Russian fossil fuel revenues — a critical source of funding for Russia’s war against Ukraine.

Before joining Razom, Valeriya spent nearly three years in public service focused on European integration. After Russia’s full-scale invasion, she coordinated the Electricity Working Group at the Council of European Energy Regulators and contributed to regulators’ emergency response following the historic synchronisation of Ukraine and Moldova with the Continental European power system — a major step in strengthening Ukraine’s and Europe’s energy security.

Throughout four years of war, Valeriya has worked closely with European institutions to help shape Ukraine’s reconstruction. She advocated for reforms that prepare Ukraine for future EU membership while ensuring that reconstruction remains driven by Ukrainian ownership and strong civil society oversight.Valeriya holds two Master’s degrees: one in Public Policy and Governance from the Kyiv School of Economics, and one in European Politics from the College of Europe in Bruges.
