Regarding Razom We Stand
Razom We Stand is an international advocacy organisation that is committed to expediting Europe’s transition from Russian oil and gas and from all fossil fuels generally to a clean, democratic, and equitable energy system. We promote energy independence, transparency, and climate justice on the European continent and in front-line states like Ukraine.
As we further establish our technical, advocacy, and programmatic initiatives in the area of renewable energy and policies for reducing LNG demand, we’re seeking an experienced energy expert to become part of our dynamic, mission-orientated team.
Job Summary:
The Energy Expert will play a key role in directing, advising, and crafting Razom We Stand’s energy transition and policy change work. The role requires technical familiarity across renewables and LNG, strategic policy analysis, and stakeholder work, with specific emphasis on the Ukraine and EU context.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Policy Analysis and Research
- Carry out thorough research on the policies, regulatory systems, and international market trends of LNG and renewable energy.
- Develop evidence-based policy briefs and recommendations, focusing on climate goal-prioritised reforms, decarbonising the energy system, and energy autonomy.
- Help to create and adapt evaluation tools (e.g., ICAT guides) to quantify the impacts of policies on GHG emissions, cost, and SDG outcomes.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy
- Representing Razom We Stand in policy spaces, stakeholder consultations, policy coalitions, and working groups on both the national and the EU level.
- Form and strengthen partnerships with public institutions, research institutions, foreign donors, and CSOs who work in the energy and climate space.
- Develop and support outreach programmes, including capacity-building modules, presentations, and training manuals.
3. Project Design and Implementation
- Provide technical support in the development of energy projects, including proposals, logical frameworks, and risk analysis.
- Help implement renewable energy programmes, in their entirety, in line with international policy frameworks and with the country’s climate policies.
- Work closely with the internal departments to integrate energy transition ideas in cross-cutting advocacy, monitoring, and transparency programs.
4. Technical Assistance and Capacity Building
- Technical advice regarding the technologies of renewable energy, GHG estimation procedures, and policy mechanisms (i.e., feed-in tariffs, tax credits, auctions)
- Develop design capacity-building strategies and conduct both internal and external stakeholder training programmes.
- Stay current with advances in energy systems, data tools, and carbon pricing systems.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Develop indicators and data strategies to gauge the impact of the energy policy works of Razom We Stand.
- Support donor reports and internal evaluations with qualitative and quantitative feedback on results, performance, and lessons learned.
- Create communications materials and syntheses to make complex data useful for decision-making and advocacy purposes.
6. Strategic Planning and Organisational Development
- Help formulate the organisation’s long-term energy strategy roadmaps as well as its campaign plans.
- Provide advice to the executive management on emerging opportunities, risks, and fundraising conditions with respect to the energy transition.
- Raising funds through the securing of new donors and helping to create effective proposals.
Education and Experience
- Master’s (or advanced) degree in Engineering, Economics, Environmental Policy, Energy Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in renewable energy, energy transition policy, or policies in the gas/LNG sector.
- Demonstrated awareness of energy policy tools (e.g., incentives, subsidies, carbon pricing) and their use in climate change mitigation strategies.
- Strong knowledge of global GHG impact analysis techniques (e.g., ICAT, tools of the UNFCCC).
- Have prior work experience with public institutions, NGOs, or international institutions in policy or technical advice positions.
- Shown ability to convey complex concepts in writing and speaking, including preparation of presentations and reports.
- English language proficiency is needed, and Ukrainian language knowledge is preferable.
What We Offer:
- Work where climate justice, energy security, and policy change intersect in one of Europe’s most volatile regions.
- Join a passionate, talented, and diverse group of people working together across boundaries.
- Carry out effective technical and advocacy projects to influence EU and country energy policies.
- Flexible work practices in a virtual, results-oriented organisation.
Benefits
- 24 days of annual vacation, plus a day off on your birthday.

- Four additional bank holidays annually.
- End-of-year leave: December 30, 2025 – January 2, 2026.
